Terms of Service for Veilo Wallet
Last Updated: March 24, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Veilo Wallet. By installing or using Veilo Wallet, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the extension.
1. About Veilo Wallet
Veilo Wallet is a non-custodial browser extension for the Solana blockchain. It allows you to:
- Store and manage Solana-based tokens
- Make private deposits, withdrawals, and transfers using zero-knowledge proofs
- Swap tokens via Jupiter
- Connect to decentralized applications (dApps) on Solana
Veilo Wallet is provided by Veilo Layer LLC ("we", "us", or "our").
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use Veilo Wallet. By using the extension, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you are not:
- Located in, or a resident of, any jurisdiction where use of cryptocurrency wallets or related services is prohibited by law
- A person or entity subject to sanctions administered by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the United Nations Security Council, the European Union, or any other applicable sanctions authority
- Acting on behalf of any sanctioned person or entity
We reserve the right to restrict access to Veilo Wallet from jurisdictions or to individuals where required by applicable law.
You also confirm that your use of Veilo Wallet complies with all applicable export control laws and regulations, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR). You may not use, export, re-export, or transfer Veilo Wallet in violation of any such laws.
3. Non-Custodial Wallet — Your Keys, Your Responsibility
Veilo Wallet is non-custodial. This means:
- We never hold your funds. Your assets remain on the Solana blockchain, controlled by your private key.
- We cannot access your wallet. We do not store your private key, recovery phrase, or password.
- You are solely responsible for keeping your recovery phrase safe. If you lose it, your funds cannot be recovered by us or anyone else.
- We cannot reverse transactions. All blockchain transactions are final and irreversible.
Keep your 12-word recovery phrase private and written down somewhere safe. Anyone with your recovery phrase has full access to your wallet.
4. Fees
| Action | Fee |
|---|---|
| Deposits | Free |
| Private withdrawals | 0.5% relayer fee (shown before you confirm) |
| Private transfers | 0.5% relayer fee (shown before you confirm) |
| Private swaps | 0.5% relayer fee (shown before you confirm) |
| Standard token swaps | Standard Solana network fees only — no Veilo fee |
Fees are subject to change. Any changes will be reflected in the extension UI before you confirm a transaction.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Veilo Wallet only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use Veilo Wallet to engage in money laundering, fraud, tax evasion, or any other illegal activity
- Attempt to circumvent, exploit, or attack the smart contracts, relayer infrastructure, or any other component of the Veilo system
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with Veilo services in a manner that disrupts or overloads them
- Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute Veilo's proprietary server-side infrastructure
- Use Veilo Wallet in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations in your jurisdiction
6. Risks of Using Cryptocurrency Software
Cryptocurrency and blockchain technology are inherently risky. By using Veilo Wallet, you acknowledge and accept the following risks:
- Price volatility: Token values can rise or fall dramatically at any time.
- Smart contract risk: The Veilo privacy pool contracts have been developed with care, but no smart contract is guaranteed to be free of bugs.
- Network risk: Transactions may fail or be delayed due to Solana network congestion or outages outside our control.
- Third-party services: We rely on third-party services (Solana RPC, Jupiter, CoinGecko, etc.). Disruptions to those services may affect functionality.
- Loss of access: If you lose your recovery phrase and your device is lost or reset, your funds are permanently inaccessible. We cannot help you recover them.
- Regulatory risk: Laws and regulations around cryptocurrency vary by jurisdiction and may change. You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws.
7. Private Features — Zero-Knowledge Privacy Pool
Veilo Wallet includes optional privacy features powered by zero-knowledge proofs on Solana. This section explains how they work and the specific risks involved.
How it works:
- Deposit: You shield tokens into the Veilo privacy pool smart contract on-chain. Your deposited funds are held in the pool, separate from your regular wallet balance. You receive an encrypted "note" — a cryptographic record of your ownership — which is stored locally on your device and backed up (encrypted) to the Veilo server.
- Withdraw: You prove ownership of a note using a zero-knowledge proof, and the pool releases funds to any Solana address you specify, protecting your financial privacy.
- Private transfer: You send funds to another Veilo user by address or username, entirely within the privacy pool.
- Private swap: You swap tokens while keeping the transaction private, routed through the Veilo relayer.
Private transactions are processed by the Veilo relayer. Unlike standard Solana transactions (which you sign and submit directly on-chain), private withdrawals, transfers, and swaps are handled by the Veilo relayer server, which generates the zero-knowledge proof and submits the transaction on your behalf. This means:
- Private transactions require the Veilo relayer to be online. If the relayer is unavailable, private withdrawals, transfers, and swaps cannot be processed until service is restored.
- The relayer receives your encrypted transaction details in order to process the request. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what is shared.
- A 0.5% relayer fee is deducted from private withdrawals, transfers, and swaps to cover processing costs. The fee is shown in the wallet before you confirm.
Note safety — important:
Your encrypted "notes" are the only proof of ownership of funds held in the privacy pool. If notes are lost and cannot be recovered, the corresponding funds cannot be withdrawn. Notes are:
- Primary Storage: Notes are stored locally on your device.
- Encrypted Backup: An encrypted backup is synced with our relayer to allow you to restore your funds on any device.
- Privacy: Note contents are encrypted using your public key and can only be decrypted by you using your wallet private key. No one else (including Veilo Layer LLC) can see the contents or access your funds.
To protect against note loss:
- Do not uninstall Veilo Wallet while you have funds in the privacy pool without first withdrawing them to a regular wallet
- Ensure you have logged in at least once after each deposit so the note is synced to the server
- If notes are lost and cannot be recovered from the server, pooled funds may be permanently inaccessible
We are not liable for loss of funds caused by note loss, relayer unavailability, or smart contract issues in the privacy pool.
8. Open Source
The Veilo Wallet extension code is open source — you can inspect and verify it yourself. However, the open-source license does not grant you the right to operate your own version of Veilo's backend server infrastructure or to use the Veilo brand or trademarks.
9. Privacy
Your use of Veilo Wallet is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Veilo Wallet is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Accuracy of balance or price information
- Successful execution of any transaction
We make no guarantee that Veilo Wallet will be available at any given time or that it will function without interruption.
Nothing in Veilo Wallet constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Token prices, portfolio values, and swap estimates displayed in the app are for informational purposes only. You are solely responsible for your own financial decisions. Always consult a qualified professional before making investment decisions.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any:
- Loss of funds or tokens, however caused
- Loss of access to your wallet due to lost recovery phrase or device
- Transaction failures, delays, or errors
- Losses resulting from the use of third-party services (Solana network, Jupiter, etc.)
- Security incidents resulting from user error (e.g. sharing your recovery phrase)
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or Veilo Wallet shall not exceed the total fees you have paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Veilo Layer LLC and its members, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with:
- Your use of Veilo Wallet
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party
13. Third-Party Services
Veilo Wallet integrates with third-party services including the Solana network, Jupiter, CoinGecko, GeckoTerminal, and DexScreener. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services.
14. Intellectual Property
The "Veilo" name, logo, and brand identity are our trademarks and may not be used without our prior written permission. The extension source code is open source under its applicable license, but this does not include the Veilo brand or server infrastructure.
15. Termination
We reserve the right to discontinue or modify Veilo Wallet, or to terminate access to our backend services, at any time with or without notice. Because Veilo Wallet is non-custodial, any such discontinuation will not affect your ability to access your funds directly via the Solana blockchain using your recovery phrase in another compatible wallet.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at support@veilo.network so we can try to resolve it informally. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through the courts of competent jurisdiction. Nothing in this clause limits your rights as a consumer under applicable mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Material changes will be communicated through the extension or on our website. Continued use of Veilo Wallet after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
